  8. said actor DANIEL DAY-LEWIS (A Room with a View). He was
  9. referring to My Left Foot, in which he plays painter Christy
  10. Brown, who had cerebral palsy. Last week Day-Lewis, 32, visited
  11. Washington to back legislation banning discrimination against
  12. the disabled. The actor knows his subject: his late stepfather
  13. was paralyzed. "He did not want to be a burden to anyone,"
  14. Day-Lewis says. "But Christy Brown insisted on making noise."
